The full title of the course is "Bigger Than Protest: The Theory of Civil Resistance and the Ethics of Social Change." The course description is as follows: "Students will explore the concept of civil resistance, social justice and human rights and effecting change in their communities in the face of oppression through understanding civil resistance, including non-violent strategies and tactics. Students will analyze the documented impact of more than a century of civil resistance as well as unfolding examples of civil resistance today and will apply their understanding of civil resistance to identify relevant micro, mezzo and macro implications."
