Analytic Methods for Mining Healthcare Data 3.0 Credits

Prereq: BST 600 and BST 635 or BST 535 or consent of instructor.

BST 636 covers statistical techniques for issues associated with the exploration of large public health data sets and the development of models from such data sets. The practical issues involved in analyzing large observational healthcare data will be addressed with a focus on appropriate interpretations and the effective communication of results.

    This course will be a fully online course with both asynchronous and synchronous components. The asynchronous component will entail listening to recorded lectures (with accompanying written notes) according to a weekly schedule. The synchronous component will include some zoom meetings for the entire class, for subgroups, and for individual students. To expedite scheduling, students enrolling in CPH 636 will be required to leave their schedules open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:45 pm
